Ed White faces several charges, including child neglect and first-degree reckless endangering safety. Advertisement A criminal complaint said officers tried to stop the 32-year-old after he ran a red light in a Porsche just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3. That is when officers said White drove into a parking lot near North Hopkins Street and West Villard Avenue at a high rate of speed, forcing pedestrians and drivers to swerve to safety. After a 3-mile chase reaching speeds of 90 mph, police said White crashed into another driver. White then began running on foot from the scene, leaving his 10-year-old daughter hurt and unconscious in the back of the Porsche. Officers eventually arrested White after finding him hiding under a car. Doctors treated White's child for hip pain, cuts and bruises. The 74-year-old driver in the car hit by White reported significant injuries, including a brain bleed, facial fractures and spinal damage. The complaint said White "denied driving" in an interview with police.
